ASW Fiddler Antique Bourbon #960 122.8 Proof - Selected by Seelbach's

Regular price $99.99 Sale

Age: 8-years 5-months

Proof: 122.8 proof

Mash bill: 51/45/4 Corn/Wheat/Malted Barley

Finish: New, charred white oak barrels for 8 years in the hottest parts of our rickhouse.

Description: Fiddler antique Bourbon is a delicious wheated bourbon, aged 8 years and hand-selected by our Master Distiller, J. Manglitz and Distiller, White Hagemann from the hottest parts of our rickhouse.

The batches are notable for their antique notes of walnut, toffee, and cider spices on the nose, and honeycomb, rich oak, and confectionary notes on the palate, with a lingering finish.

Wheated bourbons are known for their sweet, smooth profiles, using wheat rather than rye as the second ingredient after the required 51% of corn. This profile has imparted allocated status to a number of wheated bourbons on the market.

Tasting Notes: The nose is creamy and custardy, vanilla cream puff leading with hints of orange oil, soft florals, and airy chocolate mousse.

The palate is silky yet coating, rounded and nuanced. There’s red fruit presence initially before a creamy, lightly spiced vanilla and a slightly nutty toffee before a sweet oak linger.

The finish is long and softly trailing - with the oak changing from sweeter oak growing a bit more old oak. All the while, still supported with light pops of expressed orange peel and honey.

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since Prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to produce whiskey in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, just steps from the former waterfront distillery district and the legendary site of the 1860s Brooklyn Whiskey Wars. Every drop the distillery sells is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
