ASW Distillery Fiddler Amburana Bourbon

Regular price $89.99 Sale

Proof: 114 Proof

Mash Bill: 51% corn / 45% wheat / 4% malted barley

Tasting Notes: Fiddler + Amburana = Perfection?

There’s no denying the nose if you are accustomed to Amburana. Tropical fruit, fresh cinnamon rolls, and a myriad of complex spices.

The palate is rich and coating, rolling over the tongue with ease. Fresh cinnamon pastry, poetic spices, and chewy, vanilla forward sweetness continuing. The combination of wheat forward profile and amburana makes this so desserty.

The finish is long and trailing, sweet, gently spiced, and nuanced. This is a wonderfully composed amburana finish.

This Fiddler release features our world-famous high-wheat mash bill, first aged in white oak before being transferred to an Amburana wood barrel from Brazil. Known for its tight grain and unique flavor profile, Amburana barrels have traditionally been used to age the Brazilian spirit, cachaca.

Breweries first started finishing beers in the wood just a few years ago, and with how well-received those beers have been, we thought a bourbon finished in Amburana barrels would likewise bear fruit. We think you'll agree, the result is a delicious dram, with tropical and spicy notes, plus unique, floral complexity and aromatics not typically found in our Fiddler line. This release also features a tropical label that pays homage to the origin of this unique barrel. The release will be a Cask Strength, Single Barrel product with a proof just over 114.

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since Prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to produce whiskey in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, just steps from the former waterfront distillery district and the legendary site of the 1860s Brooklyn Whiskey Wars. Every drop the distillery sells is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
