Tasting Notes: Absolutely crushable and surprisingly approachable at cask strength. The nose opens with loads of brown sugar and lemon-lime before moving into a bright, almost tropical fruit medley and dry oak.

The palate is exceptionally well balanced, beginning with a fantastic combination of orange soda, butter pecan, and blueberry honey. Vanilla custard, brown sugar, and cream soda continue to build, joined by a creamy layer of mature oak that gives the sweetness plenty of structure.

The finish is long and silky, returning to a confectionary mix of caramel, milk chocolate, and nougat before an even longer linger of lemon-lime, dried pineapple, and slightly nutty sweet oak.

Story: My dad used to tell me stories about growing up in western Kentucky and working the farms. That wasn’t my experience—but a few years ago, it all came full circle when I saw a truckload of Beyke Farms corn being delivered to a distillery. It might’ve been a small role, but knowing my family had a hand in the whiskey industry was fascinating.

Fast forward to today: working with Seelbach’s has introduced me to whiskeys from all across the U.S., and one thing I’ve become obsessed with is a specific heirloom grain—blue corn.

I’m excited to introduce a well-aged, well-crafted blue corn whiskey, made right here in Kentucky.
