Story: Some distilleries buy grain. Frey Ranch grows it.

On a 1,500-acre family farm in Fallon, Nevada, Colby and Ashley Frey set out to prove that great bourbon starts long before a barrel is ever filled. Every grain in every bottle is grown on their own land, giving them complete control from seed to sip. That estate-driven approach, paired with bold, high-proof whiskey, quickly made Frey Ranch one of the most respected craft distilleries outside of Kentucky.

Their Quad Malt Bourbon takes that philosophy one step further.

Built on the same foundation as their flagship bourbon—corn, winter rye, winter wheat, and barley—this limited release malts every grain on-site. In most bourbons, only the barley is malted to help fermentation. Here, all four grains are malted, unlocking a richer, more layered whiskey that bursts with ripe fruit before giving way to notes of candy corn, malted chocolate, and baking spice.

Originally available only at the Frey Ranch tasting room, Quad Malt Bourbon is a bottle that collectors have been chasing since its debut. For longtime Frey Ranch fans, it's a fresh look at a familiar favorite. For those discovering the distillery for the first time, pour it alongside their flagship bourbon and experience just how much character can come from estate-grown, non-GMO grains when every step of the process stays in the hands of the people who farm them.
