Tasting Notes: The nose is perfectly approachable, leading rich with charred oak, cane sugar syrup, and honey. There’s still a touch of florality, citrus, and sugary mint-black-tea spice that keeps everything interesting and inviting.
The palate drinks well below its 120 proof, with beautiful peach and cherry notes at the front of the sip before moving into rich charred oak, caramel, cinnamon-dusted vanilla custard, and deeper oak the longer you linger.
The finish continues the palate’s notes, adding a bit more tingling spice, black tea, and vanilla bean as it settles into a nice Wisconsin hug.
About: Driftless Glen is a grain-to-glass distillery in Baraboo, Wisconsin, focused on full in-house production. They mill, mash, ferment, distill, age, and bottle everything on-site, sourcing grains from local Wisconsin farms. The distillery runs two custom-built Vendome copper stills—a 44-foot column still for continuous runs and a pot still for small-batch distillation—giving them flexibility across bourbon and rye production. With more than 10,000 barrels aging in on-site warehouses, they manage all maturation under Wisconsin’s natural temperature swings, producing a robust, grain-driven whiskey profile.
