Made To Remember: Introducing Hooten Young

Hooten Young is rooted in the belief that anything worth doing should be done with excellence and only when done at the highest standard can it truly honor those who are expected to give nothing less. It’s only then that the stories live on.
Hooten Young was started by Tim Young and Norm Hooten, retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant with more than two decades of service, including time on the front lines during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, an operation many recognize from Black Hawk Down. Known to many as the real-life inspiration for “Hoot,” Norm’s service is not just a chapter in his past, it is the foundation of everything the brand stands for.
The idea for Hooten Young took shape the way many do: sitting fireside with close friends, sharing stories, reflecting on service, and asking how to create something lasting. The answer became an American whiskey brand built around respect, intention, and balance. Giving back is woven into the fabric of the brand, with an ongoing commitment to supporting veteran causes.
We are proud to welcome Hooten Young to Seelbach’s. It represents the kind of brand we believe in. One with a clear point of view, a meaningful story, and whiskey that speaks for itself once it is in the glass.
Hooten Young x Jack Carr Warrior Proof American Whiskey
In partnership with #1 New York Times bestselling author, retired Navy SEAL, and creator of The Terminal List series, Jack Carr, this 16-year American whiskey was created for moments that call for slowing down.
The nose brings all the toasted marshmallow and vanilla notes you expect from a high-aged 99/1 American whiskey. It’s sweet-forward, with light brown sugar, well-aged oak, and citrus.
The palate is silky for the proof and category, delivering plenty of aged oak, leather, vanilla cream, toasted coconut, and baked apples.
The finish, while sweet-toned, introduces notes of white pepper and clove, once again highlighting aged oak wrapped in a creamy texture.
Hooten Young Wine Barrel Whiskey Collection Petite Sirah Cask Finish
This next limited edition wine-barrel finished whiskey takes Hooten Young’s 6-year American Whiskey and finishes it in Suisun Valley Petite Sirah barrels.
A full and pronounced nose, especially at 92 proof. Buttery maple syrup leads, with pops of blueberry throughout, followed by raisin, date, and raspberry.
The palate is velvety, continuing those pronounced maple notes found on the nose. It drinks creamy and, while supported by darker fruit notes, leans more into a coating mouthfeel and plump, maple-forward sweetness.
The finish carries the same notes as the palate, slowly tapering while adding a gentle pop of spice.
Hooten Young Wine Barrel Whiskey Collection Cabernet Cask Finish
Last but certainly not least, this expression finishes the same 6-year American Whiskey in Honig single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
Rich, dense, and jammy, this one begins plump with plenty of mixed dark berries, oak, and vanilla. Is this sangria? One way to find out.
The palate is full and spacious, delivering articulate notes that move from black cherry to apple, plum, and pear, before closing with tiramisu and maple cream.
The finish is silky and trailing, juicy yet softly drying, with finishing tannins that continue to display oak and fruit in tandem.
