At the end of 2022 we asked what you wanted to see more of from Seelbach's. We noticed a lot of you asked for more Hidden Gems. For the 26.5% of you looking those bottles THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!

 Founder Francesco Viola’s grandfather was a man named Mariano Viola. His dream was for his family to build a business and create a legacy in the United States. Mariano taught Francesco many skills including gardening, making pasta and wine, and distilling brandy and whiskey. In honor of his grandfather, Francesco created recipes for Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that are the foundation of Luca Mariano Distillery. Francesco partnered with an established Kentucky distillery back in 2014 to begin laying down barrels that are now reaching great ages. In 2017, LMD found a 553 acre farm in Danville, Kentucky that would give plenty of space for what Francesco envisions, and in 2022 migrated the barrels he spent years producing on site. 

While we have several expressions and proof points, I'll just point out a few of my current favorites. 

Their 103 proof single barrel rye is over 7 years old, leading on the nose with orchard fruit, maple, and tobacco. The palate, while classically rye, leads more with brown sugar, oak, and floral attributes than other more herbal and heavily spiced ryes. 

The Signature Bourbon to me drinks more like an Old Carter American Whiskey - smoked cherry old fashioned, with lots of barrel char.
