We’re back with the latest two releases from K. LUKE in 2026, including a limited amount of a Sherry Finished Bourbon and the return of Toasted Bourbon for the first time in over a year.

We saw a few excellent examples of Jonathan Maisano’s finishing capabilities last year, including a Sauternes Finished Rye that was my favorite Finished Whiskey of 2026. Each K.LUKE cask finished single barrel is a one-of-a-kind whiskey experience.

K.LUKE Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Single Barrel Bourbon

A custom small batch blend of Bourbon from Kentucky and Indiana is created by taste to be secondary barrel aged in unique barrels from around the world. After 8 months of secondary aging in this Oloroso Sherry Cask at Bardstown Bourbon Company Jonathan and Jennifer found the perfect balance of core whiskey and the secondary barrel notes to bottle this cask finished single barrel bourbon.

The nose showcases plenty of softer, cigar box-esque wood notes that sit more forward than the cask finishing, while still not forgetting some drier, fragrant red fruit and citrus punch-like touches. Gentle tannins, aromatic vanilla, and a reserved sweetness round it out.

The palate begins damp but oak-driven, impressively mouthwatering, not with wine juice box-like fruit, but with the silky, indulgent, nutty, chocolatey fruitiness of high-hazelnut-percentage gianduja. It’s velvety and smooth, with a melt-in-your-mouth quality that feels almost more experiential than purely flavor-driven.

The finish adds waves of structured, sugar-topped fruit notes, moving from apricot to raspberry to tangerine to plum, while still leaving a bit of that hazelnut and chocolate film from the palate over each note as it slowly tapers off with a beautiful, fruit-kissed oakiness.

K.LUKE Toasted Barrel Barrel Strength Bourbon Batch 5

This small batch blend was created by sourcing from several different distilleries in Kentucky and Indiana with Bourbon aged 8-10 years, this blend was then secondary aged in toasted Kelvin Cooperage barrels for 9 weeks. The secondary barrels are blended then bottled once Jonathan and Jennifer find the perfect balance between traditional Bourbon notes and added complexity / richness from the toasted barrels.

The nose is dense and buttery, with sweet cedar, Luxardo cherries, a lightly browned marshmallow exterior, browned butter, light maple syrup, candied ginger, fried biscuits with apple butter, and fresh cinnamon sugar cashews.

The palate begins clean, with simple sugar and seasoned oak, but quickly gains momentum with ginger, white pepper, and clove spices alongside warming, buttery toasted oak. It stays weighted while adding a nice silkiness to the mouthfeel, bringing to mind peanut butter pie, quickly charred marshmallows, and a touch of lemon peel.

The finish has a potpourri of dried fruits, berries, and baking spices, all present but layered with elegant nuance. It keeps this funnel cake-like, doughy chewiness with cinnamon maple icing and a dusting of powdered sugar, leading into a longer linger of clove, lemon oil, blackberry cobbler, and seasoned oak.
