Every year, a unicorn comes along that seems to hit the right chord with consumers and just takes off running. In 2026, one of those brands is Girl Dad Bourbon.

What started as low rumblings among enthusiasts online quickly turned into one of the faster-moving new bourbon releases we’ve seen this year. Their private pre-sale sold through the entire first allotment in minutes. A restock seemed to move just as quickly.

With that in mind, we don’t expect today’s Seelbach’s release to hang around long either.

The idea came about when founder Clifford Walsh found out he was having a daughter. While on paternity leave, between watching her during the day, late-night feedings, and those rare quiet moments in between, the idea started to take shape: a bourbon that celebrates the fathers raising the next generation of strong, confident women.

This one's for the dads. The ones in the stands. The ones up at midnight. The ones who didn't know what they were signing up for until they held their daughter for the first time — and realized nothing would ever matter more. Girl Dad Bourbon was born from that moment.

Crafted by Southern Specialty Spirits in Lancaster, Kentucky, and bottled with a bond to every daughter who made her dad better just by showing up, this is a 7-year, 8-month Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 101 proof that drinks exactly like it should. Strong enough for raising daughters. Complex enough to mean something in the glass.

The nose is dense and heavy, showing cooked sugars as much as rich, saturated red fruit, with plenty of charred oak and brown sugar. Pineapple upside-down cake, amaretto, and cream soda concentrate follow.

The palate is rich, coating, and beautifully balanced. There’s a syrupy vanilla cola sweetness that leads the sip, continuing with a pleasant amount of oak and leather for the age, supported by butterscotch, candied pecans, and expressed orange oil.

The finish is long and trailing, creamy and vanilla-sweetened while still carrying nuance through spiced cherry and plenty of sweet oak.
