NULU needs no introduction, and when the chance to select a few barrels comes up, we don't pass it up. While we've offered younger hazmat barrels under the NULU label before, this is our first under the New Louisville Whiskey Co. name.
New Louisville barrels have been quietly aging at NULU's Louisville warehouse for years - heat cycling, building both higher age statements and peak maturity. The result: a more limited, premium tier from the NULU team.
This is the first of several short barrel, hazmat 10-year Indiana bourbons we’ll be releasing, and it is packed with flavor - drinking closer to the bold, sweet oak profile we love in George T. Stagg.
There are only a handful of bottles available after PRO yesterday so we don’t expect them to last long.

New Louisville 10-Year 141.2 Proof HAZMAT Bourbon #A88
This one all but jumps out of the glass on the nose - great balance of creamy sugared fruits and vanilla bean, lasting long with tobacco, worn leather, and mature oak. The more you sip the more espresso fudge brownies and dense brown sugar start to emerge.
The palate masks the proof well, yet remains full bodied and oaky with dark, saturated berries and long spiced chocolate. Still, there’s a strand of blueberry and vanilla cream that lasts long past the heavier fruits.
The finish continues that swirl of blueberry and vanilla and starts to add in a bit of caramel syrup before candied almonds, tiramisu, rooibos tea, and barrel char.
