Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon
|I was first introduced to Green River Distilling through Blue Note Juke Joint. The Uncut private barrels were some of the first to source and bottle the bourbon. I was shocked at how good the bourbon was. At shy of four years old it was sweet, rounded and complex. Those early barrels put me on a war path to get the first release of Green River Bourbon on Seelbach's. After working for over a year the bottles are finally in our warehouse! This 5-year Kentucky Straight Bourbon is one of the best values in bourbon. It's rich notes of caramel, crème brulée and cinnamon. All for less than $38.
About the distillery: Green River Distilling Co. was founded in 1885. It was one of the first 10 distilleries in the state of Kentucky. Green River still carries DSP-KY-10. In 2014, under the name OZ Tyler, the distillery underwent a full renovation. They were finally making whiskey again in 2016. This was the first time this site made whiskey in over 100 years. OZ Tyler was able to get the rights to the Green River Distilling name in 2020 and rebranded. Finally, in 2022, Green River Bourbon was back on the market!
