It is always a great day when new Frey Ranch single barrels land. Over the years, the demand for them has grown more and more. We try and regularly keep their Farm Strength Uncut in as a bridge, but even our last batch of that sold out immediately. Fret not though, we have a new bourbon and rye pick, as well as a restock of Farm Strength Uncut!
Frey Ranch Distillery was born in 2006 with a passion to showcase the quality grains that goes into their whiskey. Everything is grown, mashed, malted, distilled, matured, and bottled on Frey Ranch. With over 165 years of Nevada farming tradition in their family, Frey Ranch is proud to be one of the few distilleries in the world to sustainably grow 100% of their whiskey grains onsite. Their bourbon is a four-grain recipe of non-GMO corn, winter cereal rye, winter wheat, and two-row barley, and their rye being 100% of that estate grown winter rye.
Frey Ranch Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel #1608
Golden raisin and dried cherries on the nose initially. Jube Nougats start to move into a cinnamon hard candy. Dry oak on the palate with great spice. Highlights of balanced proof and nice chocolate powder notes. Finish of cigar box and vanilla bean.
Frey Ranch Single Barrel Rye Barrel #669
Honeysuckle and caramel warm up the nose. There's a deep richness of sweet and floral. Lots of tangerine, lemon oil and orange curaçao. The palate is candied orange peel, brown sugar and toasted coconut. This leads to a long finish of cedar, toasted oak and citrus.
