Duck Club's Latest Blend: Wetlands 🦆

We're kicking off a week of incredible value, and what better place to start than with Duck Club! We first introduced Duck Club Bourbon just before the end of last year. Since then, it’s been easy to reach for both their 92-proof, 5- to 6-year Kentucky/Indiana blend for its incredible price point and their 110-proof High Brass, a 5- to 8-year Kentucky blend with a bit more bite. Today, we’re back with their latest offering: Duck Club Wetlands Blend Bourbon.

For those who aren’t familiar, Duck Club was created around the heritage of waterfowl hunting and the culture that surrounds it. The brand was started by McCauley Williams, a name you may recognize from Blue Note or Alma del Jaguar, alongside country artist and avid outdoorsman Riley Green. From the beginning, the idea was to build a bourbon that felt connected to hunters, anglers, and the people who spend their time outdoors.

That makes this latest release a particularly fitting one. Duck Club Wetlands Blend is a limited-edition conservation series created in partnership with Ducks Unlimited. It’s a blend of 7- to 9-year-old bourbons sourced from Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee, bottled at 107 proof. More importantly, proceeds from every bottle sold help fund the conservation of wetlands.

The nose is slightly perfumed, with dried cherry and milk chocolate-topped chocolate pecan pralines leading the way before moving into cream nougat and sweet oak.

The palate starts similarly, cherry cola-forward before moving into creamier notes of chocolate mousse and spiced almonds. This gives it a sweeter profile overall than its 92- and 110-proof predecessors, as brown sugar and blackberry syrup begin to thicken with repeated sips.

Creamy berries and vanilla continue to trail on the palate, as sweet oak and semi-dry almond paste remain long and coating.
