Bardstown Bourbon Co. has been collaborative from the start. Their collaborations have been some of my favorite bottles over the last few years. This release is no disappoint to the high bar they've set! After 22-months in a rum barrel the depth and flavor integration is incredible. It's easy to dump whiskey into a barrel and add flavor. This is surface level from the residual liquid that's left in the (nearly) empty barrel. A new two-year secondary aging is a different beast. The bourbon had four season to expand and contract in that ex-rum barrel. This unlocks additional oak and rum notes that are unique to a longer finish.
