While most of our releases with 13th Colony have gone out as lottery, we are excited to announce the new 2026 Cask Strength Bourbon today as first come first serve.
The 2026 Cask Strength Southern Bourbon marks the return of 13th Colony's highly sought after Southern Bourbon in a cask strength pour – no water, full flavor, straight from the barrel. Despite its high proof, this bourbon drinks surprisingly easy with impressive depth, and the annual release of uncut Southern Bourbon gives 13th Colony fans a new experience in this unique specialty release. Aged 5-6 years old and coming in at 120.82 proof, this year’s Cask Strength Southern Bourbon has a sweeter profile up front than last year’s limited release, with a finish that’s a bit softer.
The nose is dark and earthy with bold notes of honey and baking spice. Bittersweet dark chocolate mingles with clove and cracked peppercorn, alongside nostalgic hints of malted milk balls and fresh pancakes.
Vanilla simple syrup and orange marmalade lead the way on the palate, followed by delicate herbal notes of tarragon and spearmint. Layers of roasted malt syrup, toasted oats, and buttery shortbread cookies round out the mid-palate.
The finish is smooth and approachable, leaving behind gentle impressions of allspice, clove, sugar cookie, and warm bread pudding.
