Tasting Notes: The nose is thick and rich, with notes of heavy simple syrup, caramel drizzle, chocolate pudding, and fragrant, sweet seasoned oak.
The palate is dense and syrupy, led brightly by cherry cola concentrate, citrus oleo, marshmallow fluff, and sweet oak. Gentle, warming spices nip softly at the sides of the tongue, alongside pleasant charred oak and black tea-like tannins.
The finish carries a soft fizziness, with just the right amount of seasoned oak and light leather, but ultimately leans into bright cherry and smoked vanilla cream notes that linger.
About: After a traditional aging in a charred white oak barrel, it undergoes secondary aging in a second, new, charred Georgia white oak barrel from a Georgia cooperage, giving it a distinctly local character. This unique process and the bourbon's distinctive flavor make it a must-try for any bourbon enthusiast.
About: The Georgia Oak-Finished has been getting a lot of attention lately, with Forbes recently naming it one of the Best Small Batch Bourbons at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition. After traditional aging in a charred white oak barrel, it underwent secondary aging in a new, charred Georgia white oak barrel from a local cooperage known for their wider grain, allowing more contact between the bourbon and the wood. Finished for an additional 2+ years of its total life in Georgia oak. We were most impressed by its bright cherry candy and creamy vanilla tones - especially for a double-barreled product.
