We've had a steady stream of heritage barrel picks lately, and today is no exception. You may remember April last year we introduced you all to the Seelbach's Heritage Collection. Since the beginning of the 2024 we've included a carefully chosen selection from some of the heritage distillers and blenders. Surprisingly (or maybe not so) , you all seem to really like the chance to find some of those releases all in one place! With that comes the opportunity for a few barrel picks of our own, and our last Elijah Craig Barrel pick was well received (and in fact due to an internal miscount still has about 30 bottles available). We decided to run it back! This time Dee selected this delicious 11-yr coming in at 126.4 proof.
The nose is thick maple syrup, freshly toasted waffles, rich vanilla bean, raw almond husk, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and rich, dense milk chocolate powder.
The palate is extinguished campfire smoke, potent tobacco, ripe dark cherry, dry dark chocolate, Twix cookie, & cinnamon bark.
Long leathery, cinnamon forward finish with lingering notes of mint and hints of tobacco.
