To me, McBrayer is the new Kentucky Owl. They have a true family legacy of bourbon. They've used that story to honor the family history. Most important, they've done so with great whiskey. This is their 5-year Bottled-In-Bond from Bardstown, KY. The original Old McBrayer is a label from the 19th century. It wasn't until 2013 that Bill McBrayer found out there was a history of whiskey in his family. He was taking his daughter on college visits and stumbled across the families deep history in the whiskey business! This took him on a path. After laying down new make as a couple different distilleries in Kentucky, he waited. In 2021, the McBrayer name was back on a bourbon bottle for the first time in decades.
