O.K.I. co-founders Chad Brizendine and Jake Warm are no strangers to whiskey. Their partnership began in 2013 when Chad helped create George Remus bourbon, a brand that quickly grew and was eventually acquired by MGP. In 2020, Chad and Jake shifted their focus to O.K.I., bringing their expertise to a new chapter.

Known for their single barrels and later their Reserve Series, O.K.I. has recently expanded with their Bottled-in-Bond line, the much-talked-about 15-year release, and most recently taking things in a new direction with their Double Oaked Blended Bourbon Whiskey. Today we're excited to build on that latest release with our first 10-year Double Oaked private barrel.

These barrels have over 10 years of aging in oak, over five years in first oak before moving to second oak for more than five years, using char #4 staves and char #2 heads. While it consists primarily of 36% high rye bourbon and 21% low rye bourbon, they also use 95% rye whiskey and light whiskey to deliver more spice and smoke flavor to differentiate from most "sweet" offerings in the marketplace. The end result is a crushable double oaked profile with big berries, big spice, and big creaminess, at a price point thats hard to beat.

Whether you’re a seasoned double-oaked fan or curious to explore, this release is one worth making part of your regular rotation.

Fudge round cookies and chocolate-dipped orange slices lead the way, followed by apple juice concentrate, warm leather, and sweet oak.

The palate continues with rich fudge and dark berries, moving into dark chocolate, tobacco, and well-aged oak.

Long and trailing, showing charred oak and dark chocolate that leans toward cocoa powder. It dances between dark fruit reduction and charred marshmallow, with a torched crème brûlée top, raspberry, and gentle spice carrying through the extended finish.
