Lost Lantern stands out not only for the whiskeys they bottle, but for the mission they embody - one that mirrors our own at Seelbach’s. They champion small, unique distilleries across the U.S., curating releases that prove just how wide and deep the world of American craft can be. In the Spring 2026 Collection, Lost Lantern turns its focus to one of the most spirited discussions in whiskey today: high proof versus low proof.

While high-proof whiskies, especially hazmat whiskies (those bottled at 140 proof or higher), have developed a true cult following among dedicated whiskey drinkers, many whiskey lovers have yet to encounter these intense, powerful whiskies. At the same time, a growing faction of whiskey enthusiasts are gravitating toward lower proof whiskies, embracing their balance and approachability. Lost Lantern’s Spring 2026 Collection is a nod to both movements.

The Spring 2026 Collection continues this conversation and was created in honor of Lost Lantern’s newest flagship release: Far-Flung Bourbon 100 Proof, the first non-cask strength whiskey in its award-winning blended bourbon series. Painstakingly slow-proofed to 100 proof, the whiskey is being released alongside the limited, cask strength Far-Flung Bourbon IV. The collection also includes eight cask strength single casks presented in four curated higher- and lower-proof pairings. Rather than declaring one style superior, the collection invites whiskey drinkers to explore how proof shapes aroma, texture, structure, and overall experience across styles and regions.

Far-Flung Bourbon Bundle

Far-Flung Bourbon IV
The very limited cask strength (120.7 proof) fourth edition of Far-Flung Bourbon, featuring bourbon from seven states and seven distilleries: Baltimore Spirits, High Wire, Rich Grain, SanTan, Still Austin, Whiskey Acres, and Wollersheim.

Far-Flung Bourbon 100 Proof
The same blend, carefully slow-proofed to 100 proof and a showcase of the brightest lights in bourbon from across the United States.

High-Low Single Malt Bundle

American single malt encompasses a broad range of styles. This Lost Lantern bundle includes one whiskey that is a near-hazmat, bold and intense single malt from the high-elevation environment of Boulder, Colorado. The other is equally rich yet more delicate, a lower-proof single malt aged in the coastal Pacific Northwest.

Despite their different origins of Colorado and Washington, these whiskies share a lot in common; both are unsmoked, made with 100% malted barley, made on traditional Scottish copper pot stills, and aged in new oak barrels.
Aging in new oak is a style of single malt that’s increasingly associated with American whiskey.

Boulder Spirits Colorado Single Malt Whiskey 7 Years Old
The high proof half of the pair, from a Colorado distillery that marries Scottish tradition with American innovation. Aged for 7 years in a new barrel, near hazmat.

Copperworks Distilling Washington Single Malt Whiskey
The low proof half of the pair, from a distillery founded by acclaimed craft brewers. Made from Washington-grown barley and distilled and aged in Seattle in a new oak barrel.

High-Low Mountain Bourbon Bundle

The Rocky Mountains are starting to emerge as a serious and important whiskey region, one that extends well past Colorado and also includes Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Utah (and maybe even northern New Mexico).

The defining traits of this region, as far as whiskey making is concerned, are its high elevation and its dry air. These tend to result in intensely deep and rich spirits, usually–but not always–also very high in proof.

This bundle from Lost Lantern includes a truly intense 10 year old Idaho bourbon, a clear reflection of a classic Rocky Mountain style. It also includes a Montana bourbon that is also cask strength, but much lower in proof - yet also very complex.

Together, these whiskies show both sides of what a Rocky Mountain whiskey can be: powerful, intense, and deep, or rich, balanced, and complex.

Day’s Defile Idaho Straight Bourbon Whiskey 10 Years Old
The oldest whiskey ever released from the state of Idaho. Extremely powerful, with big clove and nutmeg notes. Hazmat.

Montgomery Distillery Montana Straight Bourbon Whiskey
A wheated bourbon that had a lower barrel entry proof and a shorter aging time, leading to warmth and softness rather than sheer intensity. Welcoming, complex, and deep, yet balanced.

High-Low Southern Bourbon Bundle

High proof and low proof are very much relative terms, and this bundle from Lost Lantern proves that. The two whiskies in it have a big gap between them in terms of proof, but even the lower proof one, Fiddler Soloist Georgia bourbon, is a rather beefy 129.9 proof. The higher proof one, Dread River Alabama bourbon, is a hazmat 141.8 proof.

And that’s because both of these bourbons, which have quite different mashbills and flavor profiles, reflect the intensity and heat of the Deep South… but in different ways. The Dread River has a fairly traditional wheated bourbon mashbill, but is aged in a climate that’s substantially hotter than traditional bourbon country. The Fiddler has a more unusual mashbill that features malted wheat, malted rye, and chocolate malt, making it an entirely different take on traditional bourbon.

Dread River Distilling Co. Alabama Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The high proof half of the pair, from a young distillery in Alabama. A wheated bourbon aged in a very hot, humid climate, this is bold, deep, and powerful, with big chocolate and leather notes.

Fiddler Soloist Georgia Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The lower proof half of the pair (relatively speaking), from the most acclaimed distillery in Georgia. 7 years old, this is all about the chocolate notes - rich, earthy, with hints of cocoa powder and rich baking spice.

High-Low Rye Bundle

This Lost Lantern bundle contains two amazing rye whiskies from the Upland South: an 8 year old hazmat rye whiskey from Broad Branch in central North Carolina, and a 115.1 proof 6 year old rye whiskey from New Riff Distillery in northern Kentucky.

Both are beautiful expressions of what rye whiskey from an Upland South climate can be: big and bold, or bright and balanced, both rich and full-flavored. Which side do you land on? Try them both and find out!

Broad Branch Distillery North Carolina Straight Rye Whiskey 8 Years Old
The high proof half of the pair. A big, bold rye whiskey with serious age on it from a rising star in the Carolinas. Minty, grassy, oaky, and chocolatey.

New Riff Distilling Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
The low proof half of the pair. Lost Lantern’s first-ever Kentucky rye, from an ambitious and acclaimed distillery. Fresh, grassy, and beautifully balanced.
