New Holland Barrels rarely last long on Seelbach's. Just over 3 years ago, thanks to the guys over at Breaking Bourbon, we were able to get the first ever private barrel from New Holland Spirits. While over the last few years we've had several toasted barrel finished release under their Dragon's Milk Origin line, today's barrel under the Lost Lantern label connects both sides of New Holland, whiskey and beer, in a delicious, thoughtful, and unique finish.

Lost Lantern is an independent bottler, sourcing whiskeys from distilleries all over the country in an effort to “shine a light on the independent spirit.” This release marks Breaking Bourbon's third barrel pick from Lost Lantern and fourth pick from New Holland Spirits. They chose this barrel from a wide range of barrels offered by Lost Lantern spanning multiple distilleries. The combination of New Holland’s distillate with 2 years in new charred oak followed by 3 years finishing time in an ex-Dragon’s Milk Stout barrel produced a vibrant, unique, and cohesive end result that we liked immediately, making it an easy choice. We hope you enjoy this barrel as much as we do!

Very rich and sweet on the nose, with notes of dark chocolate buttercream frosting, clove, allspice, slight apricot, and warm oak.

The palate is very complex with an undercurrent of juicy citrus with layers of notes of rich chocolate frosting, currant, black cherry, and walnut.

The finish is warm and rich, with well-integrated baking spices notes to form a cohesive ending and leave a lasting impression.
