Hand Barrel Bourbon is paying tribute to those who, with much dedication, have served our country by respectfully donating a portion of the proceeds from sales (10%) of their commemorative bottle of bourbon to Special Operations Warrior Foundation (S.O.W.F). Information regarding S.O.W.F has been tastefully presented in a hang tag, attached to each bottle.
Their collaboration with S.O.W.F started a little over a year ago. Since their team has friends and family in the armed forces, including co-founder Jim Hand's brother who is a disabled Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) veteran, he was adamant about finding a veteran charity partner for their inaugural special edition bottle.
They floated the idea to their partners at Bardstown Bourbon Company, and their CEO (also a JSOC veteran) pointed them to S.O.W.F, which he currently works with, and their cause resonated with the team.

Hand Barrel's Special Operations Warrior Foundation Custom Series bourbon is composed of two distinct mash bills: a traditional high rye 64/24/12 blended with Bardstown Bourbon Company's high corn 78/10/12. These two distinct recipes forge a beautifully crafted Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Vibrant vanilla oak gives way to a mouth warming cinnamon- clove spice that delights the palate. Special Operations Warrior Foundation, launched 1980, provides fully funded college educations and additional educational opportunities for the surviving children of Special Operations Forces lost in the line of duty as well as children of all Medal of Honor Recipients. SOWF also covers the children of active-duty Special Operations Personnel who have lost a spouse and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded, ill, or injured Special Operations Personnel.
