Aficionados Exclusive Hampden Endemic Bird Series Single Cask Selection "Becard"

Info: A cask long awaited, this Aficionados Group exclusive has been years in the making, literally. Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2020, this bottling has been perhaps the group's best kept secret to date. Each bottle comes with an Aficionados Group Exclusive sticker to be applied by recipient. At the request of the brand, the cask reads "The USA" on the back to uphold a discreet import process thanks to the extreme demand behind these single casks. This LFCH marque from Hampden Estate is an Aficionados Group selection through and through, and a privilege to release.

Age: 9-Years Old

Bottle Count: 240 bottles

Proof: 121.2 proof

Source: Hampden Estate

Mark: LFCH

Tasting Notes: Beautiful contrast of sweet, tropical fruits and ruinous Hampden funk. Sweet papaya, clover honey, melon, passionfruit and banana sweep across the nose, while estery undertones fester. The palate is rich and viscous, packed to the brim with maple, toffee, sweet cream and pineapple upside down cake. A touch of tobacco and molasses sit alongside a prickle of ethanol. Esters show on the palate, at odds with the sweet fruits. Funk and hogo about, twisting banana and papaya into funky forays. Long finish, sweet, funky, oaky alike. The tannin shows up in the finish, drying the palate and leaving a fruity, ester driven back palate.
