Chattanooga Whiskey Single Barrel
This is the first private barrel ever released by Chattanooga Whiskey. This barrel was selected by Breaking Bourbon, Dads Drinking Bourbon, T8ke.Review and Bourbonr. You can watch the full selection process here. I really enjoy a highly debated private barrel selection. While all of the samples we tried were great this one stood out. I tried to play devils advocate but even that didn't work. This barrel was the clear favorite.
Mash Bill: Yellow Corn, Malted Rye, Caramel Malted Barley & Honey Malted Barley
Fermentation: Extended 7 days
Cooperage: Toasted (P37) and charr #3 oak barrels
Tasting Notes: Baking spice upfront. There are fruity notes of cherry pie filling and nougat upfront. It's rich and hits the mid-palate with lots of charred marshmallows and graham crackers. The finish lingers slightly but makes you want to dive back in for more.
