Four Gate Whiskey Private Select Kentucky Bourbon - Seelbach's Barrel No. 22
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in A New Toasted Oak Cask
Mashbill: 75/21/4 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley
Bount Count: 156
Tasting Notes: The nose opens with tropical fruit, toffee, and malt chocolate balls. There's a little orange zest and a hint of black pepper on the backend. The taste goes immediately to the tropical fruit with ripe pineapple on the palate. The tropical notes fade to some notes of leather, vanilla and light smoke. Like the first barrel, this finish is long! It pops with the orange zest and pepper. The heat balances nicely throughout the finish.
This is the second barrel in the first series of single-barrel picks from Four Gate Whiskey Company! Four Gate is known for its partnership with Kelvin Cooperage. This partnership has produced some incredible batches from Four Gate. That's why when Four Gate started to explore single barrel options it only made sense to utilize a secondary cask from Kelvin. The addition of this toasted barrel really amplifies this high-rye bourbon. We're proud to have one of the first private barrels from Four Gate.
