There seems to be a lot of Dickel bourbon floating around these days. Multiple brands now source from the Tennessee distillery. When I was sent samples of these barrels I wasn't that excited. To me, Dickel has a pretty tight flavor profile. I've had some I love but most are on the grainier side. Then the trio from Breaking Bourbon and myself and jumped on a Google Hangout to taste the barrels. We were all pretty blown away. These barrels with crisp and fruity. There were notes of honey and cherry that I've never gotten from a Dickel barrel before. Alas, I present to you "Not Your Typical Dickel"!
Transparency is our truth and we’re proud to say Red Handed Bourbon and Red Handed Rye are blended. Proud because the way we blend and finish them embodies everything Treaty Oak is about, a meeting of tradition and innovation. Red Handed Bourbon is a quintessential straight bourbon whiskey aged in first use American white oak barrels. A well-balanced spirit worth sharing.
